Successful completion of this course will...

 

ü     give the student a thorough background in the basic accounting procedures used to operate a business.

ü     enable students to understand the basic concepts and vocabulary necessary for employment in various office jobs.

ü     prepare students for business courses in college.

 

Materials needed:

 

q      Planner

q      Century 21 Accounting text and workbook-1st yr. course-6th edition

q      calculator

q      2 sharpened pencils w/ erasers or mechanical pencil w/ lead

q      looseleaf paper and pocket folder

 

Grading:

                                    50% homework

                                    50% tests

 

         A=93-100%   Student completes all assignments, demonstrates high effort and is attentive in class.

         B=86-92%     Student does above average work, shows good effort and is cooperative in class.

         C=78-85%     Student does average work, shows good effort and is cooperative in class.

         D=70-77%     Student does below average work, has few assignments completed, shows little or no effort in class and is uncooperative in class.

 

Classroom Rules

 

·       Student handbook rules will be enforced (i.e. tardies, absences, etc.).

·       Gum, candy, food or drink are not allowed in the Accounting room.

·       You are responsible for your work area -- keep it clean!
