United States History R-Level

 

    The following information contains the topics that will be covered in the 2nd quarter and 3rd quarter of United States History and the Illinois state objectives for United States History.  The Illinois state objectives are what determine the content of this course.  All students will be tested at the end of the course to determine their mastery of these objectives.  Go to the "Helpful Links" page to view websites that pertain to these topics and other United States history topics that have been covered or will be covered in the future.  

 

Questions & Quotes Assignment

    For each topic you will have to create two multiple choice questions based on Bloom's Taxonomy.  Each question for that particular topic should cover a different category in Bloom's Taxonomy.  Remember to follow the proper foil for your multiple choice answers!  Click here to view Bloom's Taxonomy.  Along with the questions that you have to create, you will also find three quotes from that particular topic and you will interpret each quote in your own words.  The questions and quotes will be due at the end of each unit.

Objective 3.3 = Evaluate the effectiveness of organized labor movements.

-Progressive Movement

Objective 3.4 = Evaluate the Progressive movement.

-Imperialism & The Spanish-American War

Objective 4.1 = Identify and describe causes and effects of the Spanish-American War.

Objective 4.2 = Identify and describe the foreign policy of Presidents McKinley, Roosevelt, Taft, and Wilson.

-World War I

Objective 4.3 = Identify, describe, and evaluate the causes of World War I.

Objective 4.4 = Outline the course and character of World War I.

Objective 4.5 = Identify, describe and evaluate the effects of World War I.

Objective 5.1 = Identify and explain the course and character of the Roaring 20s.

-The Great Depression

Objective 5.2 = Identify and explain the causes and effects of the Great Depression on the United States.

-The New Deal

Objective 5.3 = Classify and analyze New Deal legislation.

-World War II

Objective 6.1 = Trace the steps leading to World War II and United States involvement.

Objective 6.2 = Identify and explain the war on the European and Pacific fronts.

Objective 6.3 = Analyze the effects of World War II on the people of the United States and the world.
