Major Course Goals

 

Students will:

á          seek and apply for economic opportunities

á          develop an employment plan

á          accept employment

á          demonstrate an appropriate communication skill on the job

á          demonstrate how to solve problems and think critically

á          maintain a safe and healthy work environment

á          understand appropriate work ethics and behavior (i.e. no harassment)

á          demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships

á          participate in teamwork

á          adapt and cope with change

á          demonstrate technological literacy

á          demonstrate knowledge in the following life skills:

banking, budgeting, character development (caring, dependable, fair, helpful, honest, kind, listens, loyal, polite, punctual, reliable, respectful, responsible, (initiates) purchases (cars, clothing, food, housing), human relations, insurance, saving and investing, use of credit, taxes

Students must bring with them to class each day:

á          Folder (with pockets and center binding) along with loose leaf paper in the center binding for note taking

á          Pen (Black/pen ink only) and a No. 2 lead pencil

á          Planner

á          ID

Grading

 

Lab Assignments                                      75%                                 93-100%                A

Objective Quizzes/Test                              25%                                86-  92%                B

                                                                                                     78-  85%                C

                                                                                                     70-  77%                D

 

A  =         Student completes all assignments, demonstrates high effort and is attentive in class.

B  =         Student does above average work, shows good effort and is cooperative in class.

C  =         Student does average work, shows good effort and is cooperative in class.

D  =         Student does below average work, has few assignments completed, shows little or no effort in class and is uncooperative in class.
