Major Course Goals

 

Students will demonstrate the ability to:

á          Use the appropriate software to maintain and organize/locate data (Database)

á          Use the appropriate software to analyze data, make calculations, produce charts, and synthesize the data (Spreadsheet).

á          Use the appropriate software to create presentations (PowerPoint).

á          Select and combine software modules to solve specific problems.

á          Apply desktop publishing skills in real-life situations (Word and Microsoft Publisher).

á          Create job application documents and research a career

á          Continue their competency in keyboarding

In addition to using several different texts as references, students will be using a variety of work packets and handouts in this class. 

 

Supplies

 

Students must bring with them to class each day:

á          Planner & ID

á          Pen (Black/pen ink only) and a No. 2 lead pencil

á          Folder with pockets with loose leaf paper in center binding for notetaking.

Please Ð no 3-ring binders or folders without pockets or center binding.

 

Re-Do Policy

 

Students will be allowed to re-do all returned quizzes within FIVE school days and receive the highest grade achieved.

Lab Assignments                                            75%                                      93-100%             A

Project Tests                                                   15%                                      86-  92%              B

Objective Quizzes/Test                                  10%                                      78-  85%              C

                                                                                                                     70-  77%              D

A  =       Student completes all assignments, demonstrates high effort and is attentive in class.

B  =       Student does above average work, shows good effort and is cooperative in class.

C  =       Student does average work, shows good effort and is cooperative in class.

D  =       Student does below average work, has few assignments completed, shows little or no effort in class and is uncooperative in class.
