Welcome to the Eighteenth Issue of The Teachers' Lounge!

Welcome to the first edition of The Teachers' Lounge for the 2011-2012 school year!

Great Websites for Teachers, our first new topic, provides all kinds of websites to enhance your teaching, increase learning in your students, and inspire you.

Creativity in the Classroom is the second new topic. Creative thinking is crucial to success in the world, but is often very much ignored or disdained by the test-score-minded politicians. This section offers the research showing how important it is and how to bring it into any classroom.

The Inspiration Page section has been updated. You will find it directly below this section. This issue has lots of links to websites with great videos to motivate teachers and students. Check it out!

If you ever come across an internal link - one to another Teachers' Lounge page - that doesn't work, try using your right mouse button and clicking "Open in New Window".

This website will be updated periodically throughout the year, so keep coming back!

About This Website

The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards.

Anatole France

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

Dr. Martin Luther King
